4: About the hosts

Danny and Dan took over The Promenade in August 2018. Danny runs and manages the day to day running of the guest house, and has been known to drive buses from time to time! Dan works in London during the week in the insurance industry, but cooks and cleans during the weekends! We chose The Promenade Guest House because it was an established and thriving local business, and one day, we hope Dan can give up his job in London and live and work in Brid full time.

We do live on site at the rear of the premises with our 4 cats Doreen, Saffron, Whoopie,Edie and dog Oscar. they are not allowed in the actual Guest House where guests are staying. Whoopie has figured out how to get to the main entrance of the guest house and is known to occasionally sneak in behind guests.

We chose to run a guest house because we are house proud and love meeting new people. Nothing gives us more pleasure than knowing that each and every one of you has enjoyed your stay with us. We look forward to meeting you, and we hope, once you’ve stayed here one time, you’ll keep coming back.

5: About the neighbourhood

The Promenade is situated in the North Bay area of Bridlington. Close enough to the main attractions and Town Centre shops, bars, restaurants and amusements, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle to be quieter of an evening. Perfect for those who want to enjoy the local amenities but also chill out and relax. None of the main attractions are very far away, even the Bridlington Spa is only a ten minute walk, and the newly redeveloped Leisure Centre is virtually on the door step.

The beach front is but a short hop from the front door. From there you can enjoy the full beauty of the North Bay, between the harbour to the South, and the cliffs of Flamborough to the North. The shallow bay is perfect for a paddle, or a swim, if the weather is good enough. And if it is, that’s where you’ll find Danny, Dan and Tammy, the only Lab in the world who doesn’t really like water, on a weekend afternoon, once we’ve completed our chores!

Take a walk to the North, or even better the Land Train, to Sewerby and enjoy Sewerby House and gardens. Or simply amble along the Promenade to the South and enjoy ice cream, fish and chips, the fairground rides and the amusement arcades.

6: Why guests love our property

From our reviews, and talking with our guests, people enjoy our clean rooms, breakfast always gets the thumbs up, but most of all they enjoy our hospitality. We are here to help make sure you enjoy your stay with us. We may not be able to control the weather, but we can offer you a clean and comfortable place to relax and lay your head, and a hearty breakfast to start your day.

The Promenade has a long and successful history with the previous owners, thanks Sue and Mick, but we are already starting to make our own mark. Our aim is to continually improve The Promenade by keeping it up to date and in tune with the ever evolving tastes of the modern traveller, without alienating the regulars that have been staying with us for years.

While there will always be a market for guest house accommodation, we are facing ever increasing competition from the big hotel chains. We think we can offer an experience that is more intimate, and better value for money, and that that should not be at the expense of quality. Your feedback as we evolve is key to us achieving this goal.

Oh, and Bridlington is an amazing place in a wonderful County, Come join us!
